Ways to backup information

There are many ways to backup information. Files and applications can be backed up to many varieties of storage media at pre-meditated time intervals.

There are also several manners in which to back up data that incorporate various levels of recoverability.

Backup to floppy disk was popular with home computer users during the late 1900s, for example, for relatively small amounts of information.

This form is almost obsolete now in home computing due to the introduction of larger hard disks like the CD Rom.

For larger data storage, for example when backing up entire business server solutions it is recommended that data is backed up to a large store.

Backup and SAN servers provide a large storage area that is easily scalable should an organisation need more space to save to.
