Clustering solutions with secure servers
What is clustering?
A group of two or more nodes (computers) work together as one single system to provide a high availability of services for users. This is known as clustering.
When there is a failure on one server in a cluster, there is a redirection of resources and the workload is redistributed to another server in the cluster, which means no single point of failure.
There is a great reduction of failover time and there is less chance that data will be lost during a system failure. Data is already on both servers, so does not have to be sent to a backup system at time of failure.
It is not necessary to have a separate RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) in each server, which reduces the cost factor.
We offer SQL and MySQL clustering solutions for your secure server.
Benefits of clustering solutions
- Replication can take place using standard network protocols, over any distance to any location.
- There is zero downtime with 100% availability.
- Minimum bandwidth is used.
- There is queued task processing to automatically trigger tasks.
Database replication in clustering solutions for secure servers
Database replication is when a small software module is installed on each source and target server. The client can define which data will be replicated and where the copies will be stored by using an easy-to-use client application.
Whilst the source servers are active, the initial mirroring operation can be performed. After this simple configuration and initial mirroring are completed, operations are automatic and transparent.
The failover module resides on the target (passive) server, and the source servers are continually monitored. The target server can assume the names and IP addresses of the failed servers (in addition to its original name) in the event of a server failure, and invoke scripts to restart applications.
